At Star Mountain Capital, Lauren Cooper is responsible for managing communications and brand development for the firm, including building relationships with investors, business owners and other lower middle-market participants. Ms. Cooper implements the firm’s digital marketing/social media strategy and coordinates the firm’s events nationwide.
Prior to joining Star Mountain, Ms. Cooper worked as an Assistant Strategist at OMD (Optimum Media Direction), the world’s largest media network. While at OMD, Ms. Cooper developed and maintained media plans, analyzed market research to identify and leverage suitable solutions and evaluated consumer data to refine brand initiatives for global clients including Visa, Mercedes-Benz, PepsiCo and Hilton Hotels. Ms. Cooper has also worked in business-to-business marketing within the Global Sales Operations team at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Her prior experience includes roles with Teranga Gold Corporation, Altrum Honors, Kenneth Cole and LOULOU Magazine.
Ms. Cooper is a passionate supporter of the Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer, which raises money for cancer research on behalf of the Sick Kids Foundation. She is currently an Advisor to the Star Mountain Charitable Foundation, a member of New York Women in Communications (NYWIC), the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) New York Chapter, the New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN), the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE), Women in Derivatives (WIND), and the Canadian Association of New York (CANY).
A native of Canada, Ms. Cooper holds a Master’s of Science in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT) from The University of Western Ontario.
