We are pleased to announce that, once again, Star Mountain Capital has been recognized as 2020 Best Places to Work by Crain’s New York Business. We want to thank the entire Star Mountain team for their efforts and long-term focus, and thank you to all of our senior advisors, investors and portfolio company executives who work with and support us as aligned partners.

“Culture is core to our business as is our mission and passion of Investing in the Growth Engine of America”, says Star Mountain Capital Founder & CEO, Brett Hickey. “People are our most important asset and we continually strive to attract and develop passionate, team-centric, energetic teammates, which we refer to as Mountaineers. We care about our community, our team and the portfolio companies we invest in. Our Charitable Foundation further supports this culture of caring and community. We are extremely grateful for our team’s continued long-term focus, loyalty and vision as well as our senior advisors, investors and portfolio company executives who work with and support us as aligned partners.”

Since 2010, Star Mountain has made nearly 100 direct investments in U.S. small and medium-sized businesses and over 20 secondary / fund investments within its Collaborative Ecosystem®, exclusively focused on the U.S. lower middle-market.

With approximately $1.5 billion in assets under management and over 40 full-time team members, Star Mountain’s focus and dedication has been productive for job creation and economic development as well as generating compelling absolute and risk-adjusted returns. Star Mountain is dedicated to this large market of underserved businesses with its specialized business model established to address the challenges and opportunities of these companies. As part of its commitment, Star Mountain has trademarked Investing in the Growth Engine of America ®.

Crain’s two-part survey process consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part involved an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Star Mountain must pay a fee to Crain’s only for survey collection purposes. Detailed eligibility criteria can be found here: https://www.bestplacestoworknyc.com/eligibility-criteria
