Star Mountain Participates in Cycle for Survival 2017 Raising Money and Awareness for Rare Cancers

Cycle for Survival has already raised over $19 million this year for rare cancer research

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, February 14, 2017 / — Star Mountain Capital, LLC, a specialized alternative asset manager focused exclusively on the U.S. lower middle-market and Star Mountain Charitable Foundation participated in the 11th annual indoor cycling event in support of rare cancer research on Saturday, February 11th. The event took place at multiple locations throughout the city with Star Mountain’s team participating at the Equinox Rockefeller Center location. With over 31,000 riders and $19 million raised already this year, 100% of Cycle for Survival proceeds fund rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. 

Star Mountain has close ties with the cause as Star Mountain Capital’s Founder & CEO, Brett Hickey lost his mother to cancer at the age of 6. As a result of his life experience, Star Mountain Charitable Foundation focuses on improving lives via health and wellness, including cancer research. Being engaged in the community is a core part of Star Mountain’s culture and participating in charitable events like Cycle for Survival is an important initiative to the firm. 

In addition to Star Mountain team members, Star Mountain’s Cycle for Survival team included renowned concert pianist Elaine Kwon as well as executives from other financial institutions including Deutsche Bank. After the event, Star Mountain hosted a post-spin celebration at its offices in Midtown Manhattan for participants and donors.
