Mr. Cohen has 25+ years of private credit, special situation and secondaries investing experience. Mr. Cohen has also served in operating roles in lower middle-market businesses and has held Director positions on both public and private company boards.

Mr. Cohen’s investment experience includes being a Partner and Managing Director in the Credit Funds at Fortress Investment Group where he spent 10 years investing across multiple industries and throughout the credit cycle. In addition to originating, underwriting and managing investments, Jared took leadership and steering committee roles in various restructurings and has deep experience in workouts, restructurings and insolvency proceedings.

His private equity and operating experience includes acquiring and completing a successful industry consolidation within the express car wash industry where they acquired over 20 locations and successfully sold the business to a Goldman Sachs entity. During this investment, Mr. Cohen had an active operating role as the Head of Finance & Operations.

Before joining Fortress, Mr. Cohen was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch in a principal investing role focusing on both direct originations of credit investments as well as special situation investing. Jared began his career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley in the leverage finance capital markets in New York City.

Jared serves on the Board of Big Heart Ranch, a non-profit wellness center and animal sanctuary.

Mr. Cohen graduated with honors receiving an economics degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed a study abroad program at London School of Economics (LSE) with a focus on economics, global financial markets and statistics. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Los Angeles.
